Gearless & MRL

Passenger Lifts

Quiet, energy-efficient lifts for apartments, offices and retail buildings.

Overview

Quiet, energy-efficient lifts for apartments, offices and retail buildings.

Passenger traffic is what a building is judged on every day. Sakshi passenger lifts are built around Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM) gearless traction, so there is no gearbox to wear, no gearbox oil to change and noticeably less noise in the car.

They are available as gearless and machine-room-less (MRL) configurations for residential apartment blocks, corporate offices, retail complexes and high-rise commercial towers — with cabin finishes chosen to suit the lobby they open into.

  • Lower running costs

PMSM gearless drives can cut power consumption by up to 35% compared with conventional geared traction lifts, as stated by Sakshi Elevators.

  • Whisper-quiet rides

No gearbox means less mechanical friction and a calmer cabin.

  • Less maintenance

Gearless machines eliminate gearbox oil lubrication from the maintenance schedule.

  • Space-saving MRL option

Machine-room-less layouts free up the roof space a traditional machine room would occupy.

Installation & service

How we deliver it

Every project starts with a site survey and shaft dimensioning, followed by structural steel, electrical wiring, testing and compliance certification before handover.

For multi-storey commercial projects, Sakshi Elevators indicates installation typically takes about 4 to 8 weeks after the civil shaft is handed over, depending on shaft readiness and cabin specification.

FAQs

Passenger Lifts: common questions

What capacity passenger lift does my building need?

It depends on the number of floors, the people using the building and peak traffic. Sakshi passenger lifts range from 4 to 26 passengers (272–1,768 kg); the team recommends a capacity and speed after reviewing your drawings or surveying the site.

What is the difference between a gearless and an MRL lift?

Gearless describes the machine — a PMSM motor drives the sheave directly, without a gearbox. MRL (machine-room-less) describes the layout — the machine sits inside the shaft, so no separate machine room is needed on the roof. A lift can be both.

What power supply does a passenger lift need?

Commercial and multi-passenger lifts run on 415 V three-phase power.

How long does installation take?

Commercial multi-storey projects typically take around 4 to 8 weeks after the civil shaft is handed over, depending on shaft readiness and cabin specification.
